The German Alpina coach is already rolling with a mule of his next model, the B8, which will be based on the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé and will feature two mechanical variants.
It is one of the great news of the German coach and one of the models that could not be missing in its range. The new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé will also have its corresponding Alpina model which, for now, is known as the B8 Gran Coupé, although it could recover the B6 designation as in the old 6 Series Gran Coupé xDrive.
The manager himself confirmed from Alpina, Andreas Bovensiepen, noting that "we will have a replacement for the 6 Series Gran Coupé, customers expect a successor." He also replied “that is the intention” when asked about the new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé, also confirming that he will arrive in the United States.
And the tests have already begun with this partially camouflaged test mule and in which only miss the four large and characteristic escapes in the back.
Fashions in the exhaust pipes: now they look, now they don't see
Like the new Alpina BX7, two mechanical versions are expected according to the destination market, a gasoline that will start from the V8 of 4.4 liter biturbo of the M850i and with a maximum power close to 600 hp and the diesel of four turbos, six cylinders in line and 3.0 liters with a power of about 450 hp, accompanied by a new stainless steel exhaust system and a specific tuning of the xDrive all-wheel drive.
We can also expect modifications to the chassis, a finish int unique top and, of course, some 20-spoke, 21-inch forged alloy wheels as well as a body painted in the iconic Alpina blue tone.
